I've just purchased a Colt upper. It's a square forging with the countersunk front lug.
I want to build, as correctly as possible, a '66 rifle with the three prong flash suppressor. Which lower receiver would be the most correct for an Army 603 (XM16E1)? Would it be the full fence? Thanks again. Does anyone have a good picture of the correct Colt markings on the left side of a XM16E1? |

All, thanks for your responses and help. I should have known it was the partial fence, but I suffered from brain cramps that day.
Does anyone have a good picture of the correct Colt markings on the left side of a XM16E1? I received the upper and it does meet all the particulars of a '66 XM16E1. I'm very pleased with it. It has the correct handguards, gas tube, port cover, and most importantly, barrel and front sight (all with the correct codes, stampings, and features). It came with an A1 birdcage flash suppressor. The seller also sent me a three prong flash suppessor, however it was the early duckbill type. I'm looking for the correct "improved" three pronger (hint, hint). Thanks again for all your help. |
