I give you pictures of my 603/XM16E1 clone

I had been wanting a retro for a while, and just so happened to come across the upper, bolt, BCG parts (not the carrier itself though), buffer, sight parts, and a ton of other small parts for a total of $8.52 So that became this rifle.

I am still having some difficulties getting it to actually run well, but I think with a new ejector/extractor, it will start working. Just need to get the chance for a little testing.

I will have to post pictures of it with all the gear, I am a big Vietnam era field gear collector. I am in the process of downsizing some of my gear, so if you are looking for any period gear, PM me, I have it all!

Specs are:
AR15 hardware barrel
DPMS carrier with Colt bolt and parts
NDS lower
JT repro 3 prong
Ghetto/period looking single point sling made from a Korean web sling and a USGI shoulder pad
Everything else is GI/surplus

Special thanks to John Thomas for the barrel work and Jhud for the small parts I couldn't find. And to all of the retro forum for the help!!!!

I would try another carrier just to see if the gas key is giving you trouble. Sorry, I just don't trust DPMS QC. What's it doing? Great looking rifle BTW. I love the XM16E1 - it's the 'quintessential M16'

As stated above what's not working?  Who installed the FSB on the barrel? If you thinks it's BCG related do you have another to swap in it's place?  Never personally had a problem with DPMS but wouldn't normally recommend them unless paying 50 cents on the dollar.  Did you buy a $25 Colt bolt by any chance?  They were removed and swapped for a reason.  Still should be an easy fix.  Do you have another mag to try?  Yours looks well used!  Check the hometown section above to find a member in your area for easy assistance.  Nice looking rifle but it needs to function properly.  Got the FCG springs assembled correctly?

Thanks guys! All the suggestions are appreciated and most have been checked out! I have another thread on here about the function problems, but I think I will have it resolved once I actually find some time to go to the range amd test a few things. If not, 3 local members have offered their assistance! Just thought I'd finally show off my rifle!
