This auction was the second Colt 3X scope within the past week or so that sold, in good condition, for right around $200.  (This one went for $199 and the last one went for $205.)

Just a couple flukes?  Or has there been a market correction on the value of Japanese Colt scopes?

i've seen the prices swing pretty wildly from $200ish to $400ish.  prices do seem to have been closing on the lower side now.  this auction didn't have the correct locking mechanism though.  looks like it's been replaced with one from a carry handle scope mount.

For what it is, I still think $200 is too much. Seems to be market value though.

I got mine for $150.   Most AR's seem to come with flat top receivers, and optics mounted lower are better sellers.

Neither of those auctions had shown up in an eBay search in the rifle scope category, they were only listed in Collectibles.  The potential market for them may have been thinned out by not extending the listing into the rifle scope category.

They are worth what someone will pay.  Always been hard to push one for much over $200 in my area.  Easy quick sell for $100ish at the funshows but at $200 it's gonna be traded for something seller wants that buyer bought cheap and not bought outright..  Very limited market now days.  A few retroheads and that's basically it.  Most spending $200 and up on glass will want much better optics.  Economy really isn't that good in most US areas and spending $200 plus on antique possibly broken retro rifle glass may cause severe unrepairable domestic issues.
