I'm new here and this is my first AR15. Serial number is in the 11000 range, was wondering
what year was it made. Also are these worth any money? From what i have read people like AR's with lots of bells and whistles. The SP1 are very plain and simple. Thank you for your time and i look forward to spending sometime around here. |

Welcome to the forum. You've come to the right place!
First, there's an SP1 database linked near the top of this forum, which indicates a 1968 year of birth for the SN 11,000-ish. As for value, we don't really give them here due to our code of conduct, but you might want to start by posting photos––plenty of them––so we can help you determine how original it is. After that, I'm sure you'll have help with the valuation. ETA––Detailed photos is what we seek! Barrel markings, receiver closeups, bolt carrier and bolt markings, etc. We are absolute freaks for details! |

This is gonna be the retro equivalent of when a female joins ARFCOM and ventures into general discussion Welcome and you have come to the right place! |
| Welcome to retroland. Most AR's only have value to the buyers/owners with a few exceptions. Condition is key to real value and unless un-fired or a M-16 FA AR's aren't known in the gun world as really valuable. Too many were actually produced. Of course value to one isn't to another. Look forward to seeing pics, nice score! |
