First, i want to say thanks to the many fine folks on this site that have helped me with this project.  NodakSpud supplied the 604 upper that i reprofiled to be more like the 601. Nodak 601 lower. I did John Norrells GreyFlat moly resin coating than did the BFPU technique to add some "Old Been There, Done that" look. John Thomas provided the Duckbill Flash hider and grenade spring (EXCELLENT), Jerrel, aka HeatnBeat came up with the port door, sight drum, bolt catch, (More INCREDIBLE work) I reprofiled the ft sight. I did my best at a FauxFinish. Nodak Waffle Magazine and Charging handle. Sarco barrell. All critiqueing would be most appreciated, as i,m always looking to improve her.

I enjoy looking at your pictures of your 601.  Outstanding job!

Can I be so bold as to make a suggestion?

You can post more than one picture in a thread.

Very nince retro build.  My only suggestion might be to re-profile a beater stock and possibly relocate the swivel pin and groove pin to allow it to actually swivel.  Still a clone to be real proud of.  Hope it shoots great.

Shouldn't the take down pin be dimpled? That should be a fairly easy fix if so.

I like the 'little bit of wear' look. I need to put some wear on my XM16E1 lower to match the upper. Just a little, not a BFPU, more of a 'REMF caught up in the Tet offensive' look. Great job bud.

Nice job on the rifle.

I love the dimpled FCG pins.

Purchased several sets from heatnbeat a couple of years ago.  I feel they really add the finishing touch.

Those dimpled pins make it very tempting to push the things out with one of them tumbling rounds
