False alarm... their website is back up and running... I assume their email is, too. Disregard...
___________________________________ Guys, Does anyone know if Tactical Machining has gone out of business? These are the guys many of us get our 80% lowers from. Their website is down (www.tacticalmachining.com), and emails bounce back. I hope it is a temporary issue. They have always provided a great product with great communication and fast shipping. Sometimes this is just a server glitch or a failure to pay domain registration bills. However, a quick look at command line "whois" shows that they register through GoDaddy's "domains by Proxy" service which lets a company protect its address and other contact info. Checking GoDaddy:
http://who.godaddy.com/whois.aspx?domain=tacticalmachining.com&prog_id=GoDaddy ..they're paid up through 2016. Checking a couple of other things shows them on a dedicated server. Going to check a few more things, stand by. |

John and gang –– an updated.
The first address is the more common one associated with the firm –– also with a transmission shop, an aircraft importer, and a few other medium industrial firms. But the second seems to appear in 2010 and 2011 suggesting a relo. DeLand is in central FL, an industrial outpost in a rural area, and is probably most famous (best known to me, anyway) as a skydiving center. Phone numbers same at both addresses. 1270 Biscayne Blvd Deland, FL 32724. 1584 Old Daytona Cir Deland, FL 32724 Phone 386-490-4464 fax 386-490-4890 I called the number, left mine on voicemail, but wasn't expecting anything on a Sunday afternoon. (It's 12:30 PM in DeLand, FL). The voicemail message is nothing unusual. Here's hoping it's just a server crash. I had responded to the guy who wants to reprofile 80%s for us retro builders (braceman), and expected the lowers to come from there! Indeed, I just ordered two A1 parts kits for these builds. I didn't get any lowers directly through Tactical Machining yet, but I believe they were the ur-source for the lowers I have on hand. [edited to clarify last couple lines, which were misleading].[Edited again to add braceman's handle]. |
