Is that a tula or izzy build?

I see this thread getting locked, so drop that in the "enough of the tacticool stuff" thread in the ak section.

I like it, very clean rifle.

I'll play. My Rhodesian FN. Type 2 DSA upper with Rhodesian/South Afrikan parts. Upper has been "aged" to match other parts.

i dont know, we have had a few non ar retro threads here before, there was that beautiful retro uzi posted. and the shotgun thread. most other forums don't appreciate the small details like we do here. it would give all those little side projects a home

We've had the pistol threads, the gear threads, shotgun, uzi, merzurker (sp?) etc.   Mmmmmaybe if it remained strictly VN era retro - as in late 50's thru the early 70's.

I have always liked the early cast AKs.    But I we could be opening the lid on something

I think you mean Milled AKs. Like this one. Russian Type III, 1955.

I think you are correct, GUTS.  Is it milled from a casting, or a billet?  Anyway.
I like the look.  That is sweet.  Real deal milled retro enemy stuff, whoa.   Stamped enemy stuff, not so sexy.

If a moderator or admin will finally define "retro" perhaps this section could evolve from something with a focus on mostly ARs to military small arms and accoutrements from the defined era.  1950 - 1993?

I'd say to be fair, limit it to 1950-1989. Since retro is in a sense "cold war"

But either way I like the idea

This is supposed to be the M-16 Retro Forum, and we have forums for the other rifles listed.

That said, I don't mind if this thread stays here. I can't guarantee that your Mod will agree.

I agree with you totally, and I felt a little guilty posting the AK pics but I couldn't stop myself.
