I've got a grip question and I can't find an answer on the net.....
The A1 grip has two little shallow holes on the sides of the bottom "bump" of the grip, what are they for?

sling loops were on the ar10 and early prototype ar15s. it just stayed.

You know, that's what they looked like but I'd never seen (or paid attention) a photo of and AR with the sling loop in the grip until you posted your photos, so I figured "it can't be".
