Can anybody tell me what exactly a C7 is?  Why does it seem some people go nuts for them???  Thanks, 9080

A C7 receiver is basically a 603 receiver ("A1" with forward assist) with a brass deflector.

people 'go nuts for them' because originals come up a little less often than 603 or 604 receivers.  They're not extremely rare, just a little less common.

Really?  Maybe I should consider selling my Diemaco C7 upper to help fund another build.

I think he's exaggerating a little when he says "people go nuts"

They still sell for similar prices to 603/604s.  Usually in the $100-150 range from what I've seen.

But. . .I've been looking if you're selling :P

Thanks for the assistance.  I now understand.  I apologize for the "exaggeration".  Have a good one, 9080

I dont know about going nuts over them.
I tried to sell one on the EE for 65$ and no one even winked at it. Nothing at all wrong with it.
I had to take less than half that just to get some cash flow for another project.

I should have kept it but I dont need any more uppers. I need less.

I got one off the EE a while back. Unkown MFR but it's black.  Up unitl the other day I had no plans for it. While digging through a 20MM can I found a Delton Midlength barrel and remembered having a an m1 midlength back cap, I've decided to make a C7 based midlength upper with A1 handguard.   Was going to do a midlength 607 type but since I'm doing a trust, the 607 will be an SBR.

This thread reminds me of something I need to do.

Adopt me please.    I want to "forget" I have barrels too.

I posted this elsewhere. In any event, sometimes you get lucky on the EE....(it's got a ton of oil on it as I probably won't build it for a bit––it's also more black/grey than black).

ETA: It came with a matching delta ring and charging handle. I was floored when I found it. It will be a 723-ish build but with a 14.5" Colt SOCOM barrel.

I need one of those for my Colt 14.5"  1/7 light weight barrel . It has M4 feedramps.

I need a Colt 14.5" 1/7 light weight barrel for my C H marked C7 style upper.  It has (original) M4 cuts.  Let's trade

Haha, exactly. Those barrels are tough to find (I'm not interested in a 16"). I am probably going to bastardize it slightly and put a Colt 14.5" SOCOM in it. At least I have the original 2-position stock.

You need the big "D"to call it a true C7.
