My latest... I guess I can call it a 723ish middy.
Noveske N4 lower, Bushmaster LPK, DPMS upper, Daniel Defense mid length LW hammer forger 1/7" barrel and DD BCG. I hope to get to the range this week.

That's a really nice rifle. Simple and soft shooting (so I'm told). I'm also looking forward to a range report!
If they made a middy single shield heatguard then I think I might have to try and build one myself.

I was able to get to the range today, and dialed in my middy as well as my 629 clone with my recently received (at long last) 45Bravo treatment.
The DD hammer forged barrel on my middy, while accurate, wasn't that much more accurate than the regular Bushmaster LW barrel on the 629 clone. It's certainly accurate enough for me, but I suspect these barrels won't meet their full potential unless matched with better triggers and better ammo.
I zeroed it at 50 yards. Recoil was negligible and the rifle handled nicely. It's very well balanced. If I could change one thing, it would be the hand guards - all I could find when I was gathering parts were hand guards that are similar to the fatter M4 hand guards, rather than the slim style commonly seen on earlier carbines. If anyone has a source for the slimmer version, please let me know.
