| I have examined "mil spec" and aftermarket bolt catches of an untold number of manufacturers and found some to be cast, some to be MIM, and some I can't tell. Were early Colt bolt catches forged? If not, than at any time during the M16's production history was forging used to produce this part? My motivation behind this inquiry is to determine any deviation in production quality, as well as a quality comparison between "military contract" and "civilian" bolt catches. |
