A mottled grip and no-drain handguards (yours appear to be NOS) WOULD be correct.
An early 604 would also have an Edgewater buffer and a 601 buffer tube. I can't tell if yours has those or not. ETA: That Yugo AK looks awesome! It's gonna be a great day when I finish mine. It will tag along with me in my truck. |

The 604 looks great! Looks like you need a gray receiver extension. To really get into "correctness" for an early 604, would need to know some internal details like what buffer and firing pin it has. But at any rate it looks great just the way it is.
What's MИДFP? |

Looks very nice! As far as what is NOT CORRECT, the one that stick out to me is the upper receiver, it has round forging above the port door instead of square. Very minor detail, but you did ask.

To the OP, I really like your 604 as it is and appreciate your taste in AK's. I have a Bulgarian AK74 on the way to add to my SAR-1 and M70AB2. |
| Looks real nice and clean parts also. Round forge lower and possibly the barrel are obvious. Chrome BCG is good to go. Again looks real good. Have seen dimpled pins and selector on real early model but they might not be early correct just what was on that particular rifle. Partial fence lower is early correct. I think you did a very nice job. How does it shoot? |

Just hard to recognize the member when they change avatars. I've changed mine from a Huey to a Chinook now. Maybe a Cobra is in my future. |

Looks good to me. Maybe get a machined firing pin retainer for the carrier. I think DPMS sells a correct looking one.

A buffer with 'wine-colored' tip would be more correct. Dated NIW ones are available on GB - at least they were. Is the stock a 'D'? for some reason it looks like a trapdoor to me. Nice looking rifles - I love 604's. (The AK's are dang nice too... Stock is a Type D, has the round post swivel. |
