My serial number has two numbers that seem to be added to the end of it, they are somewhat smaller and a little higher. Does anyone have any info about that?

post a pic.  who's the manufacturer?  it's not uncommon for the numbers sometimes to not line up.

It's a Colt SP1,  I believe it is a 1972 by the serial number. Sorry the pic's not that great.

Last 2 numbers are not in line?
Hmm, I don't remember ever seeing that before.
But I guess I really haven't looked.
I have seen the serial numbers not line up with the SP.
