Is there an actual name for those rubber butt pads that slip on the collapsible stock butt plates? Or anyone have an enexpensive source? With the price these colt stocks are bringing,I decided I want to protect mine. Thanks in advance.

An Expensive source huh? I'll sell you as many as you want, $100 each. Probably a few week turn around since I'll have to order them from someplace like Midway before I can ship them off to you |

The part is made by ProMag
http://www.promagindustries.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=30 ProMag recoil Pad Product ID: 52546 UPC: 708279006227 MFG ID: PM088 I don't know if the M4 version is the same, will fit, etc, as the regular CAR stock. Should be. Sorry Tumerboy, I see your link has all the same info. Oh well, too many cooks in the kitchen I guess.

You might install the recoil pad for awhile, until you realize it compromises the look of your retro carbine. That was my experience, your mileage may vary.
Anybody want to buy a once-installed, never fired, somewhat dusty CAR recoil pad? Just kidding...heh heh. |
| I think this one is the one you need for the CAR stocks. PM012. The PMO88 is for the M4 style stocks. http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=658012 |

Nothing "retro" about these things, they were never factory or military issue. –– Chuck ^^^^^^^^^110% correct. With the price these original stocks are commanding nowadays,I ONLY want them for when stored in the safe and during transport. They are actually pretty ugly in my eyes. |
