| Hi, anyone jump on this? Would like a retro, they have $500 for M16A1 kit, any opinions? v/r WaltK |

I have no first hand experience with the Sarco kit, but if the kits are true to form they are nice late M16A1 parts. These kits will build into a nice rifle. The fly in the ointment is Sarco. Some folks have great luck with them others not so much. Price point seems OK though.

Be aware that the the barrel in the kit is U.S. made but is not the original Colt barrel. The kit barrel is 'in the white' and the takeoff FSB will have to be installed on the barrel. This means that the barrel will need to be slotted for the taper pins that hold on the FSB. Also the fire control parts in the kit are select fire and will need to be modified or replaced if used in the rifle build. No disconnector is included in the kit. As noted above, the vendor GunThings.com offers the M16A1 kit with the FSB installed on the barrel and the barrel parkerized. |
| Gents....thanks for the gouge...bought one today, but this looks like I will need help...I could put the lower together, but the barrel and the park job is beyond me for sure....I want all the metal finished to match anyhow....so, that said, any reccemendations on who could do that work? tx, v/r W |

GB, opted for Sportsman Guide, was $539, figure may have to buy some parts...that is okay, I want a 3 prong flash hider anyway, but I think I want to pay someone to put this together...v/r W Contact member heatnbeat for your barrel work.Look in the build it yourself section for a guide to assembling a lower receiver. You can also find videos on youtube or Brownells website on assembling a lower. |

Get heatnbeat to assemble and park the barrel, other parts too if you like. Don't fear the assembly. You can do it! regards, Ralph |

Just use tape very liberally and take breaks if you become frustrated. |

I cant do your parking or FSB, but I'd be happy to work with you on the rest some time if you are nearby. |
