A buddy is jonesing after one of the A1 kits being marketed online. I have assembled rifles before, but only using an already complete upper.
From the Brownell's clips, I'm pretty comfortable with installing the bbl in the upper. What I DON'T understand is installing the front sight base. (I searched here and at Brownell's; no luck) Are the retaining pin holes already drilled on the barrel, or must you drill them yourself? I'm guessing it won't come with tapered pins? I'd be just as happy with an assembled barrel, but it isn't clear if that is available. I'm sure this has been asked before, sorry about that, but help me out here. Thnx, Moon |

One stop shopping with him.......He's now also cutting barrels, installing moderators, etc.Complete custom work now offered..... |

Also there ARE kits available with the barrel refinished and front sight base installed. That's the way to go. That's kinda what I thought. Sounds like you need a jig to line and drill for the pins? Better to job it out to someone who has the equipment? Thnx guys. Moon |
