| Does trigger & pin & spring need to be removed to take no tic nice older style selector outta my CMMG A2 style lower and use it in my NDS A1 lower ? (Is it easier than i make it sound ?) |
| No. I do it with a plastic ink pin and turn selector about half way between safe-semi and with right hand push on off side with ink pink while I wiggle the selector. Pops right out. to get new one in take the ballpoint end and hold down the detent and wiggle new selector in place. |

"If you drop a glass on concrete it MAY break." Some people get M1 thumb on a regular bases too. I have bent a spring doing it by loosening the grip and not paying enough attention putting it back. M1 Yes you can do it this way. And alot faster than it takes to get a screw driver much less trying to get the screw back in to the grip and spring and detent. Try it if you can't do it or it makes you nervous just take off the grip.. I'm Not trying to sound like a smartelec either. |

Here is a video I just did. Took a while to figure out youtube. First time I have did it.
Selector change |

Im a little dense , is the inkpen just a soft tool to push out selector/hold detent down while you remove selector and keep pressure on it to insert another one ? and my spring is a little bent (Stil usable ?) ![]() Yes the ink pen is just for a non marring tool. (alot more people has them than brass punch) Anything will work, I use a pocket knife most, just becareful of the finish. Your spring will be fine. As long as it still works. My bent spring I just turned around and put the bend in the hole. Kinda holds itself in place that way |

It's probably not a good idea to remove the selector like this frequently, but there's rarely any reason to remove it anyway.
Sidebar: "M1 Thumb" when loading the M1 is worn parts or chicken loading. The bolt will not release until you release pressure on the top cartridge in the clip. If you delay moving your thumb the bolt will push it out of the way. With an unloaded rifle and just closing the bolt the flat of your hand needs to be against the op rod handle. No need for your hand there when loading if the rifle is in spec. –– Chuck |
