OK, so I've been looking for an original Delft scope like might have come on an early 601.  Problem is, there is very little info out there on these scopes. The ever-reliable RBR offers some tantalizing photos, but not a lot of info.

Going on the crazy theory that I should know something about the things I lust after, what can people tell me?  Any production numbers?  Years of production?  General quality compared to other scopes of the era?
They're fixed 3-power, but have adjustable rings at both ends...I'm guessing one could be a range adjustment(?), but what's the other? And with no elevation or windage knobs, how do you zero the thing?
Does The Black Rifle book have any info on these?

Someone tell me what I'm shopping for!

the adjustable rings at each end are how you adjust for windage and elevation

front=windage
rear=elevation

Now, that's interesting.  Any word on how well that worked?  Typically, adjustment knobs are protected by caps or at least are click-adjustable to reduce the risk of getting bumped off zero at inopportune times.  Is there some way to lock these down once point of aim is set?

I never found much information on Delft scopes when I made the RBR Delft page.
tgus supplied the correct AR15 Delft photos.
I originally had a picture of an AR10 Delft photo.
I didn't know better until tgus corrected me.

So were the Delft scopes that came with some early AR10s different than the Delft scopes on the 601's?  If so, how might a poor boy hope to tell them apart?

It looks like they are a little different.  Pictures of AR10/Delft at:

Then again Buddy Hinton has some Delft and AR10 photos at:
