Shiny vs. matte handguards......Which do you prefer?

Depends on what the build is - I think shiny stuff looks better on earlier builds (601, 602, XM16E1, 605) and matte looks better on later A1s. Unless the shiny is honest wear...

Agreed, depends on the build. If you are building with a worn surplus upper, shiny. If you are building to look brand new/unissued, matte.
