I remember seeing pictures that someone posted here of an SP1 with what appeared to be black touch-up paint around the bolt catch roll pin area. Was this to cover up scratches put there during the assembly process? Thanks

Yes,,On mine,there is also touch up paint on the barrel where it's stamped Mvp between the FSB legs.Also commonly seen on the car 15 lock ring after it's staked on.Common practice at Colt.

Do they still do this, or was that something they did back in the 60's and 70's? Oh, and please post pics of that SP1 again. I remember seeing pics of it a while back, but I wasn't too interested in Retro's back then, just A2's.
