[ARCHIVED THREAD] - stock length

is the a-2 stock length the same as the a-1? reason is that I bought a buffer, spring & an extension tube from Brownell which is for an a-2. they didn't have any for the a-1 in stock. cost is the same. I have an a-1 model "E" that I want to put on an a-2. It is a spare.

making a real mutt out of this build. Spikes lower, CMMG pencil barrel, YHM a-2 upper receiver, flat ring,a-1 stock, a-1 dust cover, a-2 handguard, DD bcg, CMMG lpk, Del-Ton a-2 rear sight a-2 flash hider, changing to an a-1,Magpul trigger guard, dpms buffer extension & get this, a Pachmayr pistol grip. If this isn't a mutt I don't know what is. when I finish this if you like I will post pictures.

the A1 stock is 5/8" shorter than an A2 (you will need a spacer,)

all USGI, and I think aftermarket receiver extensions are the same lenght, regardless of A1 or A2,

and who cares if it's a mutt!!! gotta do something with all those parts,

The answer about stock lenght being the same is NO. however the buffer, tube & spring are the same. the A2 requires a spacer and longer screw. So if you ordered an A2 stock kit you will need a shorter screw for the A1 stock.

no problem with the short screw. I have a few floating around here somewhere, chrome as well as black.

LOL i wanna see. Kinda like the guy in here that put the mod high speed stock on that awesome A1 upper.

you did know that Pachmayr did make a pistol grip for the ar, right?
