Sorry for all the questions but I'm stuck in a hotel in Iceland the last 3 days and I've spent most the that time on here or Gun Broker. I've just recently gotten a really bad case of retro BRD. I think I read somewhere about Armory replacement barrels having SAK marked barrel.  Is that a plus or minus to buying an SP1?  Also on a slap sided lower the cross by the forward pivot pin means it's a what?  Thanks in advance.

SP-I didnt come from the factory with  those barrels so it would be a minus value wise

A Colt SP1 should have a barrel marked with one of the following: 12, C MP C, C MP B, or C MP CHROME BORE.

If you find a Colt SP1 fitted with an SAK barrel then it is a replacement barrel.

But, good news! The SAK barrels are genuine contract barrels and very high quality. They are in fact touted as some of the most accurate military barrels ever made for the M16A1. I cannot refute this as I've had the same experience with them. They shoot exceptionally well!

That might be the SP1 with the 604 small hole upper that on Gunbroker right now. I think someone sold off the SP1 upper during the ban to make a A2 or M4 out of it. There were a lot of SP1 complete upper a few years ago.
