Three to four years ago, everyone used to do "retroish" builds like that and post pics in the retro forum, and all the guys would congratulate them. The really hardcore guys were Dremeling A2 lowers to make them look like A1 lowers. As long as it made you happy, it was fine.
Now, the standards are higher, and more guys would give someone a hard time for builds that aren't at least visibly correct from a short distance. Times have changed. That's a nice carbine in any case. |

That's a nice carbine in any case. That is kind of what I figured. I would have modified it years ago, but it is in the original configuration that was given to me on Christmas 1990. I just can't bring myself to modify my first AR15. |

On the left is my Eagle Arms carbine. It has the gray finish, brass deflector, round FA, 6 hole HGs, an A2 lower, and a heavy 16" barrel. Does this fit as a 653, 723, neither, or something else? http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg141/dab969/EAHBAR.jpg The weapon on the right is my pistol AR15 that I added the stock to before the picture was taken. I would say its close to a 723RH. That would use a heavy barrel .750 FSB M4 profile. I think GVS |

Springfield, H&R, Winchester, and IHC.
