[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Forward Assist Interchangablility

I may buy a tear drop forward assist button only..no other parts...i have a round complete assembly..can i take all the parts off the round button and put it on the tear drop button? or will this not work?

As far as I know, the assemblies for all types are different only in the button itself.

My '69-vintage teardrop plunger worked perfectly with the pawl/pin/spring from the A2 assembly I purchased from Essential Arms. Are A2 forward assist plungers as hard to ditch as A2 pistol grips?

Hey, if you're complaining, I'll take your round F/A plunger!
I think I want to do a lightweight carbine build with an RRA 16" Middy barrel, and an A1 upper receiver,but with A2 aperture and A2 plunger.

When I get around to that, you can have my teardrop plunger.
Soon as I have more than one spare A1 aperture I'm going to start offering those up on the pay it forward.
