I like it!  Sweet and simple––the way a carbine should be.
Where'd you get the slip-over moderator?

I had it made.  I bought the upper with a heavy barrel for some reason.  I had seen the slip over styles Bushmaster had, and didn't like the profile.  So, with that in mind, and thinking of the STOLL flash hider on my STG58, I contacted a member "Moses" over on the FAL FIles, told him what I wanted and he made it.

I got a slab side lower from Nodak that will eventually become an SP1 carbine clone. I love SP1s and I always wanted a slab side lower since I was 10 and saw one at a gun show. It may not be the correct lower for the builds I want to do, but to hell with it, it's what I want.

+1

Plus you won't have to mess with the screw type front pivot pin.   I started to put one together like that.  Still need to finish it.  Have pics somewhere...

That's the only person you have to please.
But they can be the toughest critic too.

Nothing wrong with an SP1 clone with a 601 lower. I love mine. Remember that the Air Force is notorious for reusing all sorts of parts, especially lowers.

Not to threadjack, but hopefully inspiration for you guys worried about not using 'correct' lowers for your carbines:

Looks like a dandy ich-scratcher to me. Nice job.
