| I'm finally thinking about a 602 build. Anyone know where I can find a 602 stock? I used to hav a few of them lying around, but got rid of them and haven't seen one in years. How hard are they to find? Are they expensive? |

So let us see the rest of it! From what I can see that looks pretty cool, with the heavy mottling & all. |

Oh alright, http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/8655/02stock.jpg http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/5982/02stock3.jpg Just as I thought, very nice! Can you tell me the width of the buffer tube hole from one side of the stock (outside edges) to the other? I used to have the info written down, but cannot find it now. Also just use a standard tape measure, I don't have any fancy calipers or gauges. |

Are you looking to make a clone out of a "D" stock? I thought about doing that as well until I hooked up on the above "C". I would really enjoy seeing what you come up with. |

No problem, a PM would be great. No there is no clone in my future, just want the info again for "possible" Type C's in ads & auctions. Just something to help describe a "C" to someone that does not know. Thanks Dan. |

OK so a 602 stock is identified by how thin it is at the buffer tube meeting point?
Brick My 602 stock is very thin in all dimensions, lightweight hollow feeling. It has a different angle off the rear receiver extension. They usually have parked swivels unless it has been changed out. There are some examples in Ekie's variation guide tacked at the top of this forum. |

Well there are a lot things to represent a 602 stock.....
I you check out the rifle guide post from ekie on the top of the page you can see these. One is the thickness where the stock meets the buffer tube. It is VERY thin here. The other is the color.....NEW 602 stocks have a dull shine to them, going to a shiny snow flake look with use. Not many 602 stocks out there in new to near new finish The area that has a hole to fill the foam, or commonly known as drain hole is either missing or offset a much smaller then the 604 stocks. |
Guess I was not the only one to call him. I called him on Thursday, & he did not even know there was a difference then.

You mean if I take an average trapdoor stock, take off the rubber coating on the swivel and park it, It will then be an early 603? If you find a trapdoor stock with a rubber coated sling swivel LMK. |

Call Steve at SirPlus and butter him up a little. I'll bet the cat and the goldfish that he has a few. I spoke to Steve (Sir Plus) yesterday, and he says NO to 602 stocks,,he has early 603's with the parked sling swivels. Dang ! I owe you the cat and the goldfish !! Be careful when you open the box, he may be irritated after a long flight. I guess he sold them all. He used to have a couple pallet loads of stocks a year ago, and at that time he didn't know what the deal was with mottled stocks, or 602's, etc. He's obvuously been wised up since then. |
