[ARCHIVED THREAD] - BCG question

A friend bought a 450 bushmaster. (it's his only AR) I have a SP-1. Since it has no forward assist can this cause a problem with modern bolt carriers?
I was planning to get a LMT BCG to use with it. I know it seems like a silly question but I want to be sure.

There is no problem using new bolt carriers.

And in fact, once the serrated carrier was introduced in the M16A1, ALL carriers, whether military or civie wer made that way, My SP1 came with one in 1977.
