I recently completed a new build with this 1969ish brand new Colt barrel. Its marked CMP C so I know I don't have a chrome lined bore. What kind of barrel life do you get out of these barrels? I know its a pretty general question, but I am totally ignorant with these barrels. I have the option to get another thats why I ask this. Thanks

I've bought several used M16 barrels and I also got a USGI corrosion gauge (in wooden case) and USGI 5.56 head space gauges and have never gotten a shot out barrel yet.
I've yet to wear one out. I have so many rifles that none of them get a lot of range time. They get rotated quite a bit. Get a second barrel and build another rifle around it. |

The only ruined barrels I've seen were due to abuse.
I've seen barrels ruined from firing with a squib, being run over and once from multiple beta mag dumps. I've never heard of someone (non-military) having to replace a barrel due to wear, except one person who replaced his Krieger competition barrel because the old one was "worn." A friend of mine got that used barrel for pocket change. I should have asked sooner! Just make sure you don't bend it like this one:

Im not sure of the round count but I was sold a shot out barrel in the EE. Im still trying to get my money back.
My first clue was when I was using the cleaning rod with the bore brush and with the patch pusher I noticed a large loss of friction near the front sight base area. seller stated I" shot about 10 rounds and it shot fine." after I asked him about the problem when cleaning it for the first time. I was using XM193 55 GRAIN FMJ and it was making key holes at only 7 yards. This is the target I used. The black dot was the point of aim for every shot. 
C MP Chrome Bore and the front sight is as low as it will go.
