Has anyone had any experience with Nodakspud? I found their web site, but I hesitate spending any money (being reviewed for disability) unless I know the product is worth it. It sounds good. A new forging machined to early M-16/AR-15/SP-1 specs would be wonderful and much cheaper and safer than modifing an A2 lower.

For the OP: NoDak Spud is top notch for us Retro builders, & therefore there is a long wait between parts availability. If you have the money to spare, hold onto it, & be prepared to send it to them FAST when they announce availability. Check here in the Retro forum for updates & release dates of parts. |

I think most of us here send the majority of our expendable income to NODAK! Top notch parts and historically accurate lowers that have never been available to the hobby builder. I have a pic I stole off GB but can't find it, of a VERY rough SP1 magwell showing a lot of chatter as it was milled. After seeing that pic, I'd have to put Nodak's quality above Colt's. Of course, I don't have any Colt Kool-Aid in my cupboard. I will not buy any other lowers than NDS at this point. PLus they have great customer service, and they listen to us. Don't have to say how rare that is these days. BTW Mike, when are those 9mm lowers going to be ready? I'm unemployed AGAIN so I need to know so I can rob a liquor store or something.

| NoDak makes the BEST lowers bar none, I have 7 of their models & each one is "tighter" on any of my original Colt uppers than ANY of my Colt lowers. They make the best lowers for the "retro" rifles in quality & originality (appearance wise of course) & they also are one of the BEST companies I have ever dealt with in 30yrs in this hobby bar none, don't even think about it, NoDak is the ONLY way to go. As has been stated the only problem is time, but the wait is more than worth it! |

I have 4 NDS lowers (2 x 601, 1 x XM16E1, 1 x 16A1) and 2 uppers.(NDS-32 and 604)
I plan on buying only 3 more lowers (XM16E1, 16A1, 635) and 2 uppers (603 & 635) from them...this year. Probably going to get a 605 upper and another lower next year. I might also build a 607 next year using a lower. think I'll quit...yeah right! |
