I have a Colt SP1 and I need to find a Bolt Carrier Group without the Forward Assist Serrations on the side.  Where should I look?

Depending on the year of manufacture the bolt carrier would be with the forward assist serrations. Only the very early (pre 1966?) SP1's came with a bolt carrier w/o them.

Best bet is to keep an eye out on GB or the EE.

Unless you are trying to replace an original "no notch" carrier from an earlier SP1 just use any SP1 carrier with the forward assist serrations.  The very early SP1 BCGs ('64-'67ish?) are their own creature and you won't find a modern replica of one.   Besides not having the forward assist serratons, the sear trip was not machined as far back as the later SP1s or even the modern AR15 carries.  Also, most all these early BCGs used the parked machined firing pin retaining pin.

That right there AKARS is what I need for my 1965 SP1. It (my SP1) came to me with a notched carrier. I've thought about just buying a parkerized slick side M16 carrier for it & calling it good.

You need to find out what year yours was made. There are many places
online where you can look that up, including this one at biggerhammer (link).

Once you know the year, you can determine exactly which BC you need.

But unless you have a serial number less than about 15,000 you'll need the ubiquitous semi-auto style with the serrations.

These were used in SP-1 rifles, despite the lack of forward assist, because after 1969 the serrations were included by default.
