I like the look of these magazines, and would like to have one. I am not much into collecting, so I was wondering if there are any reproductions that can be had for less than an original. Is anyone making these?

Why did they change to the new design.... is there something wrong with the waffle?

No repo's but I am sure someone will chime in and tell you that they are very expensive for originals.  Now if we could get someone to make them.

NoDak had a post a few weeks ago about them wanting to make repoductions. They said it would cost too much for the equipment.

Wasn't there one on GB last month for $350???

I think VAAR has one...

The change over was likely to save weight, and corrosion resistance.

It seems to me that you could use normal equipment, and just modify the press face slightly. It couldn't cost that much more than a normal machine, could it?

I wonder if there is a way to modify normal magazines, press the extra grooves in and refinish?

Sell them for more than a normal 20 rounder, and you could break even faster. You're still selling them for less than an original.

... unfortunate that they aren't available.

Well your talking about making seperate dies for these, it's not just a case of modifying existing tooling, more the case of making new specific tooling. That costs money. While I don't know much about stamped sheet metal, I know a couple things about machining anyway. Well at least they told me I did at the holiday inn express this morning....

The ones on GB list got $300-$350, but market price is more like $200-$250.

I've never actually handled one of these. Are they steel or aluminum?

I got one with perfect finish and another with almost no finish on it, both for $400.

I sold one that I "found" for $250 last year on GB.
