[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Another Retro Mag question

Picked up 5 mags the other day marked Colt .223. I compared them to a old beat up one I have and the lettering is a bigger size on it than the 5 I just purchased. The ones I just bought look to be in to good of condition to be true. Two are marked IU. Any comments or opinions on them?

Just wondering what the timeline is on them and if anyone noticed the difference in letter size before? Thanks

I have some of both. I got them around 1977-79. must have been different production runs. anyone else want to chime in???

Not "IU", It is "UI" stands for Universal Industries, a division of "Okay". These are Colt contract mags. 1960's. early 70's. Tilt the mag sideways and the "UI" becomes "CH"....Colt Hartford...
