My SP1 (SP 61XXX) has a trapdoor buttplate Should I replace it with the complete trapdoor unit, or simply order the plastge plate itself?

Is your buttstock damaged? If not, I am not sure what you are looking to do.

Thanks for checking in. I want to keep the weapon as original as possible. The plastic around the upper scres hole is cracked. I want to replace it with an original, or with an aftermarket to save the orignal part.

You can buy NOS A1 butt plates for about $5. I would not buy anything aftermarket for it.
Check your IM's, got a possible source for a replacement for you.

I got about a dozen from Dean last year, which is where this one came from...
