Where can I find the external pieces or even better a retro "looking" parts kit to build a lower. I just don't want black switches and levers on my mil-gray lower from NoDak |

Naval Jelly trick. There are quite a few threads here covering it - a recent one titled Naval Jelly Trick is the bomb should be in the first two pages. Coat the steel parts in naval jelly for 30-45 seconds, wash off, oil. Repeat if necessary. works very well. I found rinsing in the hottest water you can get helps dry the parts and then oil immediately. ETA: you'll still need a no-tic selector |
By "no-tic" selector he means a selector w/o the notch on the right side. The right side is just flat. ETA: I guess I did not answer the question. All the A1 rifles/carbines did not have a safe or fire marked on the right side, so the right side of the selector was flat. When the A2s come out the had the words safe & fire on the right side, so on the selector there was a notch cut into the right side so the operator could tell if his rifle was on safe or fire from either side of the gun. |
I'm guessing that the lower parts are new (i.e. black). I know the barrel is not GI (not chrome lined), comes with A2 upper, etc. I asked about some of their lower parts - all were new production, black. |
