So,
Hopefully you guys can help me with this. I have an A1 upper with no forge codes and no markings in front of the ejection port. There ARE two notches on the sides of the receiver where the gas tube goes in. Who made this? Thanks.
Dustin

I don't know what company made your upper, sorry. But, if your camera has an icon of a flower, like below, make sure it is showing and your close ups should be in better focus.

Is there a flash line on the upper receiver above the charging handle ?

Yes, it either hasn't been machined at all or was only machined a little.

I have been researching mine which is the same as yours but w/o the notches.  I will defer to the experts here, but with no marks, and the flash on the inside of the carry handle and above the CH, may be a GM Hydramatic ?   Comments experts ?

Your pictures are way to blurry.  It looks like every other upper out there.  We cant even see the forge codes.

I think that's his point, there are no forge codes.

I have no knowledge about anodizing and refinished M16s, but to me it looks like the original finish. The finish isn't built up or thick and has the same look as anodizing. Also, it is the same color on the inside and out.
Even if it was refinished, there never were any forge codes. I have looked very closely in front of the ejection port and I don't think could have ever been any marks there either.
What is strange is the weird notches on the front of the receiver. Also, this hasn't had the forge flash removed like Colt's receivers.
I'm sorry the pics aren't in focus, but they are pictures of the nothingness and the notches on the front. Am I ever going to know about this upper?
