How hard are these to come by and are they expensive? And I am talking about the real deal with the baffle inside. I am wondering because I have only seen one and it was not for sale. Edit: Thanks for everyone that replied, I know know where there are a few Colt marked moderators. |

As I understand it the ATFE considers them to be suppressors requireing a tax stamp. I have only seen one years ago on a suposedly real XM177 and the owner had two form 4's for it I seem to recal. As a suppressor I imagine they can be made by one of the current suppressor companies but I do not know if any have been. |
it had flash hider slots like the second one in from the right in VAAR's and like the one in RMiller's. The one I saw had no markings and the finish on it was really beat up. Thanks for all the replies guys |
| U.S. Autoweapons in Scottsdale (near the Scottsdale Gun Club) has one, a genuine Colt. Saw it the last time I was there. They also have a transferable Colt 614 w/Colt moderator and a transferable Colt RO639 w/Colt moderator. They have a lot of really nice stuff, but it is pricey. Check out www.usautoweapons.com for stuff that will make you cry. |
| If you can find a NFA mdoerator with the flash holes, have a C2 turn the lenght back to remove the flash holes, tada! You now have a 607 moderator. Yes I did make some NFA versions and they didn't exactly move quickly. I kept one, which is not for sale, as a reference. It would be easier to have a a 177 type modified by a competant smith than to find a 607 version. |
