I bought an odd lot of .223 ammo and most of the headstamps were TW 73 - Twin Cities made in 1973. Included in the lot were some headstamps that have REM-UMC at the twelve o'clock position and 223 at the six o'clock position. The projectiles are 55 gr fmj, the primers are silver and crimped into place, and the cases show the annealing colors at the shoulder. The rounds look like M193 ball. Could this be early ammo for an AR 15 or M16? Should I just shoot them up?
Thanks,
Pat

Shoot up the Rem UMC.  I know where there are some unopend boxes of TW.   Someone here sold some TW 68 Tracer not too long ago
