Anyone sell/have a source for a gray magazine button. I know I can have one refinished but are they available off the shelf from anywhere?

Quiet had some for sale in the EE, not sure if he is out.

Someone also posted recently that if you use naval jelly on the black parts it will strip the finish and there will be light gay parkerizing underneath.  There was some discussion as to whetehre it might be the naval jelly etching the part, but it does turn gray in any event.

Magazine release buttons are alluminum, not steel.
I wouldn't recommend using naval jelly on them.
You won't get the desired results.

I tried the naval jelly on a mag button and it had no effect on the color at all.  Then I tried some Birchwood Casey blue and rust remover and that also had no effect.  Not sure why that was.  Just passing it along.  In any event, it can't hurt to try.

I would think that the back aluminum parts are anadoized and not painted.  Blueing and rust remover work on steel parts not aluminum.

I used naval jelly on the steel parts, the DPMS LPK came out looking just like the color of my nodakspud lower. Except the black mag button looks like a canker on it. The mag button is the last part I need to complete the build.

Try the dark park bake on lacquer from Brownell's. It's a close match in color to the NDS lower.
