Where would I find a Colt mag like the one below?

They're fairly common in the EE mag section.  The early ones marked .223 are less common.

Should of checked there first Thanks

Actually, they're pretty darned rare.  Almost none are marked with both AR-15 and Colts' Firearms Division.  Even more rare given that's a 30 rd baseplate

Guess I shouldn't have got rid of the ones I had...thought they were not retro enough...

I believe they are from the late 70s-early 80s.

I've never seen a baseplate like that on 20's.....I scored a box of "62667" marked 30's with the same baseplates a while back.

Oh....maybe it's just me, but the pictured XM-177E2 looks a lot like an airsoft / model gun...............

Kinda off topic here, my apologies to the OP. I have a mag like yours Villafuego (30rdr w/the dark green follower & 62667 on the mag body), the base plate looks the same, except mine says "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. INC." instead of "COLT'S FIREARM DIVISION" like the ones in your picture.

What is the difference? Is one earlier or rarer than another?

Again my apologies to the OP for taking this off topic.

ETA: Now that i look at it & have taken it apart, the follower does not look dark green, it looks black & really shiny with the numbers 62665A on it.

Thanks ranchhand, just looked at it in the sun & it is dark green. I had to turn it at a particular angle to see the green though.

These are some of the different plates on my stock of 20 round magazines; all Colts; the last one has the black plastic follower and came from a Colt LE6920 Carbine.

Sorry, but those mags aren't rare Private......you should just dispose of them immediately. Just send em my way and I will make sure they get properly disposed of

They are rare because very few were made.  Yes they are more rare than Armalite mags which appear to be everywhere.

Thanks ranchhand.
Do you have any idea about what year they were made, or how many was produced?
Were they made for export rifles or a certain colt model ?

I got one with an 80s 6550 Govt Model that came with the original box.  I have only seen a few ever..

The 30 rd mags marked AR-15 were only produced in the late 60s-early 70s and every one I've ever seen has the dark green follower. Colt dropped the AR-15 markings and the mags just had a blank spot where the marking should be.
