I have always liked this rifle, does anyone else have info on this LaFrance product?

That is not high on my want list, but after reading that product description, I'd love to shoot one. It sounds like a real thumper. |
But what cartridge does it shoot??? The description under the pic says .45ACP, but the Spec says 5.56mm NATO...  And it says "utilizing Thompson SMG magazines", but the pic is a 30rd M16 magazine...   (And it has some screwy foam sleeve around the handguard)

They used the description and the specifications from the M16K-45 but the rest of the info pertains to the M16K. |

The short .45 upper alone would be great for an SBR build, but I doubt they'd sell you just the upper & conversion parts. Wouldn't grease gun mags be better than Thompsons? IIRC, Thompsons have a guide rail in back you need to line up. I really love the idea of an SBR like this - the perfect HD weapon, especially with a 1911 as 'backup'. |
Too bad. Retro seems to be enjoying unprecedented popularity at this time...I feel bad that so many companies went T/U before the present interest...  Hopefully, more companies will get involved... Which brings up an interesting point...I only stumbled on this Retro Forum by accident (I was a regular in BIY)...but are the other AR sites enjoying a spike in Retro interest as well??? |
