I have not seen any discussion on the configuration of the 602 upper.
Is it the same as the 601, or does it follow the 604 in apperance?
Any one have pictures of a 602 upper?

Cool.  I've never seen a 602 upper in the flesh, and I've bought or sold about a hundred uppers in the past year...

Looks familiar.

Sorry OP, I did not get a picture of the whole upper before selling the receiver.

As far as the configuration of the upper, it had a 1/12 twist barrel, flat slip ring, early Armalite gas tube, cast FSB, & a 3 prong FH.

I told you I was gonna' do something good with it...here it is in progress.

Just need Form 1 approval to finish it off.

I believe it will turn out nicely.

My question about the 602 compared to the 601 could have been phrased better.
The 602 has the directional arrow for the rear sight stamped or engraved @ the carry handle,  and has no forgeing codes, but does it have the angled cuts @ the back of the receiver above the charging handle? Is there a rebate in the pivot hole on the left side?
Im guessing that the stamped rear sight arrow is the sole identifier for the 602, right?

On the one I have:

Yes to angled cut on the rear above CH
Yes to rebate in Front lug
Yes to tiny hole for port door spring
Yes stamped rear sight arrow and R with a numbered sight drum are the only differences between 601 and 602 upper.

There should be some penalty for improper use of a collectable part like that upper.  Some sort of fine.
