Does an A1 rifle build use the standard buffer assembly used in the A2 or are they different?

exact same, the only difference is the A1 stock is shorter and uses a shorter screw. If you have an A2 buttstock screw on an A1 it will stick through into the buffer tube and the buffer will hit it, causing damage to the back of the buffer.
