I recently purchased an early model Aimpoint from the EE.  This scope was issued to troops in the early 90s.  I was orginally planning on putting it on a M-1 Carbine as a hog gun but it kind of looks good on this A1 Carbine.  It is very robust and seems to be as good a scope as the newer Aimpoints.  Not exactly real"retro" but what the hell?

By the way, if you are interested I put Duracoat on the receivers because they were in bad shape.  It is not the exact orginal Colt color but it is a good approximation.  It is two parts German Olive Gray (32) and one part Colt Gray (8).

I have a Russian copy of that scope. It's made to military specs, and a great deal. Unfortunately a lot of guys will never get past having a 'commie' scope on their AR, which I totally understand. I have it on a commie gun, (SKS) so it doesn't matter.
