smells of entrapment, I guessing maybe a Class 3 dealer could buy it though and determine if it's in the NFA registry or not

I sent the guy an email asking what form it's on and if it's in the NFA registry. I doubt he responds. Hell for a price like that I would have to see it and the papers in person.

its probably a class III .... I saw several at a local machine gun shoot a few weeks ago. But it must be a typo on the price...it should read 13,000.00

thing that bugs me about ads like this, let's assume it's legit, transferrable, etc.  Media and Bradybunch and all the other anti gun groups will cite this as an example of how you can buy machine guns and grenade launchers over the internet.

I think it might be real.

I was told several weeks ago about a local (Minnesota) guy that was selling an M16 to raise money for something.

I passed on it...........

Also one on Autoweapons (dont feel like searching for it)....

It's a classic scam.  "Seller" gets photos and descriptions of an actual commodity that he doesn't own from somewhere else (notice the descriptions are exactly the same as those of Autoweapons) and creates a user ID on an auction site.  Lists something rare or valuable for an obscenely low price:

- transferable M16 w/ 203 for $3K
- transferable IMI Uzi for $540

Some poor sap falls for it, uses the Buy It Now feature, and sends him a money order, cashier's check, or whatever.  Gets nothing in return.  Happens all the time with ebay car sales.

It'd work better for him if he stuck to non-Class III stuff.

Airsoft?

Ask where he lives and if he would be interested in a FTF.

Chances are he will say no, which IMO would meen it's a scam.

If he says yes, it would illegal and probably be a sting.

It seems way to fishy to touch.

Yeah, that is fishy. I doubt it's the same guy I was told about.......

The only legal M16 an individual in Minnesota can own is a C&R Colt/Armalite Model 01.

This scam popped up about 6 months ago on GB and AA. Then it was a Barret 50 cal for like $4k less than market.

I bet the guy wants a "Western Union" moneygram. Most con-artists and thieves use Western Union as traceability is hard.

Someone used the "Buy it Now" option on the UZI!!!

He probably has a dupe account and bid on it himself.
Then he will leave positive feedback.

HAHA!  The best part is that he takes Paypal!  I bet heads would explode all over California if that deal went through - pay for a grenade launcher with Paypal.

You have his PayPal address?  Would be worth it to report to PayPal so they can cancel his PP account
