I'm predominantly a 1911 guy but just recently purchased a new Colt LFE carbine.  I was toying with the idea of tricking it out by adding rails, a light, laser, eotech and such but was wondering if the Colt should remain stock and I should get something else to trick out.  Also, with the myriad of aftermarket parts, how do you decide what's best to buy in terms of accessories?  Thanks

Most of the guys I know with a 1911 have between 2 and 3 thousand dollars in parts and gunsmith time in these pistols. You might want to get used to shooting your Colt as is. Just buying parts does not make one a great shot or expert at fieldcraft. Your rifle is a great weapon right out of the box, sometimes less is more, especially if you have to carry it all day. Just my two bits, Ronzo

You might get better info on that stuff on the regular AR15 section instead of the retro section.
