Were the extractors on SP1 rifles and carbines marked with a "C" like the extractors of more recent Colt bolt assemblies? (For those that are wondering; the "C" is located on the inside of the extractor. You have to take it off the bolt to see it.) |

The SP1 parts, when not especially modified for the piece, like bolt carriers, were stock M16 pieces. Thus, the early extractors woild have been unmarked, and the later ones marked w/a C. The changover would have been right around the time that M16 extractors were changed over. |
The C mark started being put on Colt parts when, or shortly after, H&R and GM got M16 contracts. My brain is blanking right this minute on what year that was, exactly; but the info should be in one of Ekies locked postings at the head of this section. |
