Guy E-mailed me asking if I had seen a rotating swivel on a brown stock. Told him no but I sure would like to buy it for study. Had to buy the whole set to get it. Now that I have the whole set, I like it, so am going to keep it. You have a good start on yours, can take a few years to piece one together. |

You got the main idea there, green stock set, slab lower, no forward assist, old prong flash suppressor. Looks good. |
Yeah, some guy told me that he had a brown set and an edgewater buffer (as well as a green set) and I offered him, didnt get a reply, then emailed him back to find that someone else had offered him more so he sold it to them. Sad how some people are ONLY looking to make more money on something these days...I'm sorry but, if I get an offer, I'm gonna have to go with the first offer instead of saying "oh this guy emailed me 3 days later but he offered more so I sold it to him". Pisses me off.. But yeah, I'm hoping this'll take less than a few years Just need to get that lower first.

Probably the same deal, it was delayed for a few days becuase I lost the E-mail in my inbox for a few days. Things like that happen when you work 15 hour days, plus weekends. |

Mine is almost done. I found a slicksided upper and now all I need is a slab lower, an old 3 prong and a waffle mag. I have a complete green furn. set, slick-carrier. I was thinking of doing the A1 mod to the lower, but I don't know where to find the front pin that I would need. |

Is that the new product you were talking about? Also, is there a divot on the "flat head" side of that pin..? They werent like that just so ya know. |

Okay, I'm committing blasphemy here... but that brown furniture would look great chopped up and put on a 607 clone. ![]() Maybe if I can find some originals damaged beyond the parts that would be modified for a 607 I could hack off the damaged parts and use the rest.... |

I couldn't really get the light just right for pictures of the new pin. It's still in the white and needs to be parkerized. It will be a faithful reproduction of the original Model 601 front pin, only scaled up for the SP1. No, there's no divot on the flat head side, only on the small end. In addition, the part of the pin that protrudes from the receiver will be rebated to .250 so that it will look more like the original pin protruding from that side. It will have a divot as well but we are planning on making them with and without divots so that SP1 owners can choose the early or late style. The shaft of the pin will stop at the edge of the receiver. Depending on your SP1 receiver it should sit very close to flush or within .001. I've measured at least 20 different Colt receivers and there is as much as .004 variation in the width where the pins go through so this is by no means going to be a bulls eye every time but the end product should be very aesthetically pleasing even if it is off by .001 or .002. The head of the pin will be about the same size as the rear takedown pin head, around .373 to .375 so it should look balanced. The pin will be retained as the original with a spring loaded ball bearing. In case you were wondering, the SP1 has a gap on either side of the front lug on the upper receiver and there is ample room for a ball bearing to engage. There will be more pictures to come and the new pin will be posted on the EE when they are in production. If someone has some dimensions from a real 601 pin head I'd be interested in knowing the diameter and thickness of the head. The overall length might be of help in determining the length we use for the .250 protrusion. Thanks guys! |
Yep, on USPS it says "Notice Left" so it's waiting at the PO for my FFL. He was at the fun show yesterday (woulda gone but had to work |
