That is a strange BC. No FA notches, but the sear trip is cut way back and the hammer cocking ramp is cut back like much later pattern BC's. Is this an aftermarket BC or something from 66 or 67 ? I would happily trade a genuine chrome M16 carrier for a genuine EARLY [ 64, 65 ] pattern AR15 carrier. Actually, I need 2  rj |

The earlier Colt/USGI smooth side AR15 carriers are matte, like Dan's AR10 carrier assembly, as compared to the XM16E1 carriers. Even the later smooth side with the squared carrier key (third from bottom) is a little brighter than the early ones above it. Here is a detailed pic of several originals. HTH, Carey

Belive it or not, I pulled a carrier, exactly like that, from a NIB Armalite carbine. The carbine had some other problems as well, so I sent it back, but I wish I had switched the carrier out.. That was last year, and I posted pics here, but all the Armalite fans said I was full of crap. But I was'nt, NIB A2 carbine, with a lick side carrier.. |
