I have searched the Pistol forum here for discussion going on with Slings for there AR pistols. came back with zero results. fairly new to the AR pistols and just finished mine. Not new to the AR platform though. just curious how many are running slings because we all know that they are alot heaver than our Glocks and 1911's.

Could you share with us what kind of sling you run and what your thought process is as to why you run that particular sling?  I am also trying to come from darkness into light on this subject as well.

I run a magpul MS3 on almost all my rifles/pistols. i used to use single points so i still have a few of them as well.

I have VTAC padded, VCAS std & padded versions and just picked up a Magpul MS1 padded that has only seen garage use as well as single points and a bunch of tradition style slings.  The VTAC by feel has the longest adjustment, the Magpul is very well built and I am eager to give it a good run as it is the most snag resistant but at the moment I still give the nod to the VCAS likely due to I've owned them the longest.  All of them are set up as 2pt to 1pt switchable, but I rarely if ever use them as a 1pt and am contemplating just removing the Magpul QD adapters as the add extra length I generally don't need.  Been thinking of trying the IWC QD tri-glide on one of them to shorten the length but haven't gotten around to clicking the buy button.

All of them excel far and beyond most traditional slings and single point slings and once you get your hands on them you will quickly see why.

Sure thing bro. I just use a 2-point sling and hook both ends of it into the rear attachment point

I'd get a qd mount receiver end plate and run a 1 point sling

Just ordered my first AR pistol and was wondering about slings also. I use the padded VCAS on my rifles and was wondering if a single point would be better for a pistol AR. I like this idea of attaching both ends to the end plate, gives you the option of of both methods. Thanks for the idea.

Magpul MS4 Gen 2 QD here. I have them on all my ARs so my reaction to any desired position change is for me automatic and to a large degree muscle memory.. I prefer  them because of the versatility of sling use (single or dual point) and sling point options and the Gen 2s are just a bit longer in length  than the old Magpul MS series.

I have a generic single point bungee sling for my pistol.  It attaches to a loop formed into the lower receiver end plate.

I use a MS3 with RSA and ASAP on my pistol. I like the versatility of the setup.
