| Been out of the AR loop for a while, looking to do my first pistol build. Have a complete PSA lower so far, and a BCG. On the "buy list" so far is a Geissele trigger(not sure what one yet), Shockwave brace and Magpul grip/HG and back up sights. What upper would you guy's recommend??? |

Sorry 5.56, flat top as I'll be getting a basic RDS. Just a ''simple'' gun. Quoted:

Caliber? Budget? Any specifications/features you desire? Sorry 5.56, flat top as I'll be getting a basic RDS. Just a ''simple'' gun. My only advice is stay away from Radical Arms. A lot of people have had problems. Of course, there are also many more that didn't but why waste your money on junk. |

I like! What do they sell for? |

Get on PSA's email list. They have a special every day.
What you want might get listed. They have some uppers with or without the CH and BCG. Andro Corp has inexpensive uppers too, I have a 10.5" upper with quad rail, CH an BCG for $320. They're in the Industry section and the EE. |

PSA just had a weekend deal for a mid length setup with a stainless 1:8 16" barrel. That's what I would've bought if I was in the market. BUT for you, I would say any of the PSA uppers would work well. You already have the BCG, so the rest will be pretty easy. PSA has pretty good stuff, I've been impressed wit the quality for the price. It all comes down to a few factors: Budget, Intended Function (CQBR -close quarters battle rifle, SPR- special purpose rifle, etc), Preferred Look, Regards to quality and Brand name.
I started my mid length spikes and put a trijicon ACOG on it. Realized I didn't really like the acog. Put a Nikon BDC scope on it, and realized "what am I doing"? "I have a long range scope on an M4 style AR and it just looks weird. Found my magic setup with an EOtech optic. I Love it! But I have the scope still, so guess what? I've almost completed my second build just to have an SPR with a scope. Long story short, there are so many different options out there and different looks. And what didn't work for me or anyone else here, might work just fine for you. Do some research before you buy, and you'll feel good about your purchase. |

Couple comments...not sure you need to spend money on a Geissele trigger. Reason being....how far do you really intend to shoot this pistol? Anything under 100 yards and you really don't need such an expensive trigger unless you simply have the extra cash. Honestly I wouldn't waste money on a Geissele trigger unless I was building a competition gun, hunting rig past 100 yards, or I simply was made of money (if I was made of money I wouldn't be buying a budget upper). Anyways that is just my two cents. For the money it is hard to beat a PSA upper. Check out hardened arms. They have limited reviews but most are positive and they seem to have good customer service. |

PSA has their 11.5" on sale, their 10.5" is good as well.
I would skip the Magpul grip and go with a BCM mod 3. I agree the trigger you want seems like a was for pistol, I would look at the ALG ACT or QMS either is more than good enough for a pistol. 5.56mm is going to be terribly effective past say 250yds. maybe less, depending on barrel length. Many go with a 7.5" which is really a range toy at best. |

My Andro Corp 7.5 has been accurate and reliable. They also have great customer service. I bought this one as a backup/toy but it's been great.
I personally use Aero Precision 7.5 upper on my duty gun. They use Ballistic Advantage barrels. Mine runs great with all combinations I've used; Pig brake, A2 flash hider, suppressed and unsuppressed. I have over 4000k rounds through it the past 4 or 5 months without an issue and it does not have a huge ass gas port like some companies do to make them reliable (Radical BCM good stuff too but I don't know if they do anything shorter than 11.5 anymore. |
